Telephony

Once in France, we recommend that you open a French telephone line. This is not mandatory, but it can make your life easier and avoid additional costs associated with using your foreign number.

There are four main providers in France: Please note: Before signing up for a contract, be sure to check the length of the commitment period!

You can also purchase a prepaid SIM card at a tobacco shop's. This option offers a certain amount of flexibility, as you only pay for what you use. Once your credit has run out, you will need to top up your card to use it again.

The French dialling code is +33
To call an international number from France, dial 00 followed by the country code and the number you wish to call.

 

Internet


The various UPVD campuses have Wi-Fi access available to all students using your login details. Self-service computers are also available in the university libraries (BU).

If you wish to install Wi-Fi in your accommodation, you can refer to the providers mentioned above for mobile offers, as they all also offer internet subscriptions.

Please note: if you are living in student accommodation, your accommodation is already equipped with Wi-Fi.
